Multiple Sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system. It effects every individual differently and presents with varying signs and symptoms which can include weakness, cognitive decline, spasticity, decreased balance, sensory changes, impaired coordination, speaking or swallowing changes, and even urinary problems.
At Neuro Logic, a comprehensive evaluation will be performed to determine impairments that will lead to a individualized treatment approach. Treatments may focus on strengthening, endurance training, balance, and prescription of assistive devices or adaptive technology to allow individuals to continue to be safe members in the community. The prior approach was to not overwork individuals in therapy as it was thought to lead to flares, however, evidence shows that is no longer the case. Be ready for interval training at higher intensities! Ryan previously worked at a facility that was a Partner of Care with the National MS Society.
